Indications

Infections of the skin and mucous membranes caused by the Herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, including herpes lips.


Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to acyclovir and other components of the drug.


Application in pregnancy and lactation

Adequate and strictly controlled clinical studies of the safety of the drug during pregnancy have not been conducted. The application is indicated only in cases where the intended use for the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.


special instructions

To achieve maximum therapeutic effect, it is necessary to apply the drug already at the first signs of the disease (burning, itching, tingling, sensation of tension and redness).


When pronounced manifestations of herpes lips is recommended to consult a doctor.


The cream is not recommended to be applied to the mucous membranes of the mouth and eyes. possibly the development of local inflammation.


In the treatment of genital herpes it is recommended to avoid sexual contacts or use condoms, because the use of acyclovir does not prevent the transmission of the virus through sexual contact.


Patients with immunodeficiency in the treatment of any infectious diseases should follow the recommendations of the doctor.


Composition

In 100 g of cream contains:


Active substance: Acyclovir 5 g.


Excipients: Propylene glycol, white soft paraffin, cetostearyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, poloxamer 407 sodium, lauryl sulfate, dimethicone, purified water.


Dosing and Administration

The drug is recommended to apply 5 times a day (every 4 hours) a thin layer on the affected and adjacent to them skin.


Duration of treatment is not less than 4 days. In the absence of healing, treatment can be continued up to 10 days. If the symptoms persist for more than 10 days, you should consult your doctor.


The cream is applied either with a cotton swab or with clean hands to avoid additional infection of the affected areas.


Side effects

Local reactions: sometimes - short-term redness, itching, flaking, burning or tingling in the areas of application.
