Isoprinosine is a medicine that contains an active substance called inosine acedoben dimepranol. It belongs to a group of medicines called immunomodulators with antiviral effect. It is used in the treatment of herpes simplex infections, genital warts and subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (brain damage accompanied by mental deterioration and convulsions).
Precautions
It should be avoided in patients allergic to the active substance inosine acedoben dimepranol or other similar drugs. If you are experiencing symptoms of an allergy, such as:
Isoprinosine should be avoided in patients suffering from gout (joint damage due to the uric acid accumulation).
This drug increases levels of uric acid in the body, so it is necessary to control uric acid levels while using this drug.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Isoprinosine should not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to lack of data.
How to use
Dosage:

Note: Dosage calculations based on body weight are required for subacute sclerosing panencephalitis and ranges from 50 to 100 mg per kg of the body weight. Example: If the patient's body weight is 80 kg, then the dose should be calculated as follows:
50 mg x 80 kg = 4000 mg (4 g) per day. the dose should be divided into multiple doses and administered on every 4 hours (approximately 670 mg for every 4 hours (total of 4000 mg per day)).
Isoprinosine should be used in the treatment of genital warts only as adjunctive treatment.
The tablets can be taken regardless of food, because the food does not affect this medicine.
The tablets may be crumbled and dissolved in a glass of water immediately prior to use. Do not crumble tablets if you do not plan to take it immediately after crumbling.
Avoid the use of alcoholic beverages while using this medicine.

This medicine may cause the following side effects:
- nausea,
- vomiting,
- abdominal pain,
- diarrhea,
- constipation,
- headache,
- dizziness,
- fatigue,
- insomnia,
- nervousness,
- increased urine production,
- increased levels of uric acid in the blood (a control of blood uric acid levels may occasionally be needed),
- joint pain,
- allergy and others.
