Composition
Active ingredient: ketoconazole, 21 mg / g (including 5% excess). Excipients: macrogol, methyldextrose dioleate, imidomurea, cocoyl diethanolamide, collagen hydrolyzate, sodium hydroxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfosuccinate, sodium chloride, hydrochloric acid, flavoring agent, red charming dye (E 129), water.

Ketoconazole, a synthetic imidazole-dioxolane derivative, has antifungal activity against dermatophytes such as Trichophyton sp., Epider-mophyton sp., Microsporum sp., And yeast, such as Candida sp. and Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale). Ketoconazole shampoo quickly reduces desquamation and itching, which are usually associated with dandruff, seborrheic eczema and pityriasis.
Pharmacokinetics
Ketoconazole absorption through the skin when applied topically is negligible. Since even with prolonged use, the content of ketoconazole in the blood is not determined, it can be concluded that the drug does not have a systemic effect.
Indications
Treatment and prevention of skin lesions caused by Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale), a yeast-like microorganism, such as dandruff and pityriasis (local).
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the shampoo.
Side effects
Shampoo Nizoral 2% is usually well tolerated. As with other shampoos, local irritation, itching, or contact dermatitis (due to irritation or an allergic reaction) may occur. Hair may become oily or dry. However, when using the shampoo Nizoral 2% such phenomena are rarely observed.
In some cases, mainly in patients with chemically damaged or gray hair, a change in hair color was noted.
How to take, the course of administration and dosage
Apply 2% shampoo to affected areas for 3-5 minutes, then rinse with water.
Treatment:
Dandruff and seborrheic eczema: twice a week for 3-4 weeks.
Pityriasis versicolor: daily for 5 days.
Prevention:
Dandruff and seborrheic eczema: weekly or every other week.
Pityriasis versicolor: daily for 3 days (single course of treatment) before the onset of summer.
Special instructions
When using shampoo, avoid contact with eyes. If shampoo gets into eyes, rinse them with water.
To prevent withdrawal with long-term topical treatment with corticosteroids, it is recommended to continue topical application of corticosteroids in combination with Nizoral 2% shampoo with subsequent gradual withdrawal of corticosteroids for 2-3 weeks.
Seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff are often accompanied by increased hair loss. In rare cases, enhanced hair loss was observed when using Nizoral 2% shampoo.
