Pharmacological action

Differin - comedonolytic, anti-inflammatory.

Pharmacodynamics

Adapalene is a metabolite of retinoid, has comedonolytic and anti-inflammatory activity, normalizes the processes of keratinization and epidermal differentiation. The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with specific γ-receptors of epidermal skin cells.

As a result of the action of adapalene, in particular, there is a decrease in the "adherence" of epithelial cells in the mouth of the sebaceous-hair follicle and reduce the prerequisites for the formation of microcomedones.

Adapalene has anti-inflammatory effect in vivo and in vitro, acting on inflammation factors by inhibiting the migration of leukocytes in the focus of inflammation and metabolism of arachidonic acid.

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption of adapalene through the skin is very low (about 4% of the administered dose). Excretion from the body occurs mainly through the bile.

Externally. With a light touch, apply the gel or cream evenly to the affected area once daily before bedtime on clean, dry skin, avoiding contact with the eyes and lips.
